The Safety in the Laboratory Seminar is a two day seminar which comprises a series of lectures on implementation of safety practices and protocols in university and industry-based laboratories. The safety seminar is designed for participants to be aware of the potential hazards commonly encountered in laboratories and discuss ways and methods to best avoid them. Introduction to good laboratory design is also included in this seminar.

Requisite Competencies: Safety seminar participants must be currently affiliated with a laboratory or an institution or business with a laboratory. An academic background on the field of hard and life sciences would be advantageous but not required. Students are also welcome.
